Whisky And Dreams

Didn't mind the stormy weather

Didn't mind the rain

Cold lies and broken promises

I took all the pain

But to hear you say you're leaving

Is more than I can bear

Don't know how I'll live without you there

So I'll just sit here drinking whisky

While you put on your favourite cologne

Then you can go your way and leave me to mine

Leave me to face it alone

You go and find your tomorrow

And leave me behind in the past

Whisky and dreams

Is that all it's come to at last?

We started this together

When we made a vow

We were gonna be true forever

But just look at us now

Acting like we're strangers

I don't understand

You've turned your back

On everything we planned

So I'll just sit here drinking whisky

While you put on that faded old dress

No calling names, no passing the blame

It's just how it happens, I guess

We couldn't know that the future

Would turn out the way that it has

Whisky and dreams

Is that all it's come to at last?
